The 1000m scamper will ensure a hotly contested lead where position is vital.
Super Too can look to jump straight to the front from gate 3 and set the pace.
Spending To Win and Eduardo both draw wide- will they both look to get across early? If they do it could be hectic early.
Quilista should be able to settle right on the speed from gate 2 and looks best positioned in the run. Miss Leonidas can also tuck in.
Bons Away is the main off-pace chance in the race.
Super Too ran 2nd in this race last year to Snitty Kitty.
In 2014 and again in 2015, the finish of this race resulted in a dead-heat.
Including the dead-heating runners, 6 of the past 9 editions have been won by a 4YO.
Weighted runners don't have the greatest record in this handicap- in 2017 an 2015 the winners were on the minimum.
Gear changes to factor in- Malibu Style wears concussion plates first time, Super Too has winkers first time .
Thorondor is the only 3YO in the field. The last 3YO to win this race was the brilliant Sepoy who carried 2.5kg more than Thorondor has to here.
She Knows has a solid record at the distance of 6: 3-2-0 and will race a bend left-handed for the first time in her career.
Three runners from the 1200m G2 Gilgai Stakes all meet again here- Eduardo (2nd), Bons Away (3rd), Quilista (4th).
Eduardo met Bons Away and Quilista at equal weights in the Gilgai. He has 4 & 4.5kg respectively relief from them in this contest.

First held in 1983, the Caulfield Sprint is an open handicap run over 1000m. The race has featured in a raft of name changes, generally around the sponsor’s name. It was for the period of 1995-1999 known as the Schillaci Stakes following on from the win of the great grey sprinter in this race in 1994 until that name was transferred to another race.
Run over 1,100m, the minimum weight in 2016 will be 53kg. The race was held at Listed level when first held in 1983 and then in 1993 was granted Group 3 status. Since 1999 the race has been held at the current Group 2 level.
Total prizemoney on offer in 2018 is $200,000 with the winner to receive $120,000. In 2015 the race saw Lumosty and Éclair Choice dead-heat for the win. Amazingly it was the second consecutive year that the race ended in a dead-heat after Miracles Of Life and Bel Sprinter shared the win in 2014. Other winners include Our Boy Malachi, Sepoy, Fastnet Rock and the only dual winner Toledo.
