Betting operator UBET has continued to boost its racing investment in its partner jurisdictions with sponsorship of the state’s premier Queensland Thoroughbred Incentive Scheme (QTIS) race.
Hot on the heels of its naming rights sponsorship of the Stradbroke, UBET has been announced as the sponsor of the $1 Million UBET Magic Millions QTIS Open at the Gold Coast on January 14.
UBET Chief Operating Officer Brendan Parnell said QTIS was closely aligned with UBET’s underlying philosophy to support all sectors of the racing industry.
“Having a successful and thriving breeding industry is critical to the racing industry in any jurisdiction and the QTIS scheme here in Queensland provides outstanding support to the state’s breeders,” he said.
“As the state’s licensed betting partner, we see this is as an important sponsorship as it reaffirms our commitment to drive investment and wagering interest in the Queensland racing product, which then flows back to the industry.”
Mr Parnell said the Jeep Magic Millions Race Day had proven to be a hit with punters in recent years on the back of the increased prize money; and UBET was proud to be part of the summer’s biggest race day.
“You only have to look at the calibre of horses racing at last year’s Jeep Magic Millions meeting to see how big it has become and we can only see it getting bigger from here,” he said.
“Having the sales, the polo tournament and the race day itself all within a stone’s throw of some of the state’s most beautiful beaches makes this week one of the most enjoyable on the Australian racing calendar.
“We wish all jockeys, trainers and connections with runners on the day, good luck, particularly those contesting the $1million UBET Magic Millions QTIS Open.”
Magic Millions Managing Director, Vin Cox, said, “This partnership with UBET complements the exclusive wagering agreement between Racing Queensland and its Thoroughbred Race Clubs.
The level of interest in the $1m UBET Magic Millions QTIS Open has been very encouraging following the success of the inaugural race last year, won by Queensland’s favourite, Buffering.
Magic Millions thanks UBET for its commitment to the $10m Jeep Magic Millions Raceday and we look forward to a successful partnership.”
