Early shoppers have stepped in and smashed an unraced filly from the John Zielke stable to win on debut at Doomben this Saturday.
UBET reports Ruby Red Heart, the two-year-old daughter of prolific stallion Show A Heart, has been hammered from $5.50 into $3.80 for Race 1, the Val and Eddie Machin Two-Years-Old Handicap, in the past 24-hours.
“Markets went live yesterday afternoon and the first bet we laid on the race was $5,000 for her at $5.50. The second, third and fourth bets were $1,000, $4,000 and $2,000 for her at $4.60,” said UBET spokesperson Nick Curry.
“Almost all of the money was from punters in the know, so we can safely assume she has some ability, plus she has looked handy in both her trials.”
According to Curry, Ruby Red Heart has already been backed to win a tick over $60,000 and the interest in her shows no signs of abating anytime soon.
“Our traders may well need a defibrillator if she gets in,” he said.
