Having started the 2015 premiership season with an all-time membership record and impressive consecutive wins against North Melbourne and Hawthorn, Port Adelaide has kicked another goal in announcing a new deal with wagering partner, UBET.
After facing rising debt, low attendance at games and tumbling membership numbers only a few years ago, the club has recorded one of the great turnarounds in sporting history, with the UBET partnership the final piece in the puzzle.
The two year agreement positions UBET as the Official Betting and Premier Partner for the Port Adelaide Football Club and offers joint promotional opportunities at Adelaide Oval home games, including UBET mobile betting vans, and the chance to connect with their almost 60,000 strong membership base.
The announcement comes as UBET launches their new national brand this week.
UBET Brand General Manager, Penny Glasson said; “Betting on AFL outranks every other sport 20-1 in South Australia and it is our goal to be the number one choice for punters in the state. What better platform to do that than partnering with Port Adelaide?” Ms Glasson said.
“This partnership is a great alignment for UBET. We’re regenerating and breathing new life and new meaning into our brand with the launch of UBET, similar to the club’s overhaul and rise to success we’ve witnessed over the last few years,” she said.
The partnership marries perfectly to UBET’s core brand values, “for the thrill of it”, with UBET adding to the home game experience through the addition of a mobile betting facility at Adelaide Oval, as well as providing UBET customers with thrilling money can’t buy experiences.
Port Adelaide chief executive officer Keith Thomas said the club was thrilled to welcome UBET as a new Premier Partner for 2015 and beyond.
“This commitment from UBET continues to build on the momentum we have generated in the corporate space over the pre-season.
“Since December, we have signed on four new Premier Partners with UBET now joining OAK, RAA and Four’N Twenty as club partners that sit just below our joint major partners Renault and EnergyAustralia.
“This partnership with UBET is significant as it reinforces our capacity to attract major, reputable national companies and helps underpin our resurgence as a football club.
“The financial commitment from UBET will allow us to continue to invest in our football program as we strive for sustained success.”
UBET, the wagering subsidiary of TattsGroup and formally known as TattsBet, announced the partnership as part of their re-brand which will launch nationally on Thursday 30 April, 2015.
The re-brand is a monumental change for the wagering business as it undergoes a transformation to reclaim its leadership position as one of Australia’s leading wagering companies.
