A full field of 20 horses will line up in the Group 1 Darley Goodwood this weekend, but UBET punters only want to back two of them following the barrier draw.
Black Heart Bart, the $4.50 favourite and Supido, the $6.00 second elect, came up with barriers two and nine respectively and both have been backed to near exclusion since the final field market went up.
“On paper this looks to be one of the more open editions of the modern era, but punters sure don’t see it that way,” said UBET spokesperson Gerard Daffy.
“Since the final field market live, Black Heart Bart and Supido account for a staggering 85% of the business and they were both well backed prior to that too.”
Apple Isle flyer Admiral and Newmarket Handicap winner The Quarterback, both at $10, have also come in for consideration, but there hasn’t been a decent blow for any other runner in the race.
“Our customers have been riding the Darren Weir juggernaut for several months now and, even this far out, we know that Black Heart Bart will be our worst result,” said Daffy.
