Most Australians enjoy a bet but some people may have a problem controlling their gambling. This can often involve spending too long in betting venues, being constantly short of money, or using money not meant for gambling.

A Deposit Limit allows you to limit the maximum amount you can deposit into your online betting account. It helps you to set a budget, control the amount of money deposited from your personal funds and manage your spending in a responsible manner.
A deposit is defined as funds you are able to deposit in your account by any means, like EFTPOS, BPAY, credit card deposits and betting vouchers. Winnings from bets placed within your account are not counted as deposits but winnings from retail transactions which you choose to transfer into your account are counted as deposits. Bonus bets like matched deposit offers do not count as deposits.
You have the option to set a 1, 7, 14 or 28 day Deposit Limit. The amount should be set in line with your personal circumstances and should only be what you think you can afford to bet with. You can change your Deposit Limit at any time in the ‘Self-Manage’ section either on the App or website or by calling us on 1800 823 888. Any decreases to the Deposit Limit will take effect immediately but increases will take effect after 7 days.
TAB encourages you to Set Your Bet Limit according to your personal circumstances. A bet limit is a customer nominated limit on the maximum wagering spend over a given period of time – either daily, weekly or monthly. Once your bet limit has been reached, you will not be able to place any further bets until the next time period commences.
In order to maintain the highest possible standard of responsible gambling, the Set Your Bet Limit is controlled exclusively by you – the customer service team cannot override the limit without your express authorisation.
You can edit your Set Your Bet Limit at any time in the ‘My Account’ area of TAB, or by calling our Customer Contact Centre on 1800 823 888. Please keep in mind, any increases or removals to your bet limit cannot be affected until 7 days after the request is made – we do this to make sure you're happy with your decision. If however you would like to reduce you bet limit, you may do this at any time by editing the limit in ‘My Account’. Select the ‘Set Limit’ button below to start.
If you no longer use or want to use the online betting facility with TAB (QLD/SA/TAS/NT) you can choose to close your account. By closing your account you will no longer be able to log in or access any features of your account.
In order to ensure that your request to close your account is processed promptly we recommend that your account is verified, you have no pending bets, you withdraw any funds in your account and you update your bank account details and address in ‘My Details’. If you choose to close your account and have pending bets these will be processed once they have resulted, however you will be unable to login or access any features of your account once your request to close your account has been submitted. Any winnings from pending bets or other funds that were not withdrawn will be paid into the bank account or sent via cheque to the address in the ‘My Details’ section of your TAB (QLD/SA/TAS/NT) account. Should you wish to self- exclude/bar (SA customers) from wagering online with TAB use the Self-Exclusion option in ‘Self Manage’. If you are looking for a responsible gambling tool to help manage your gambling behaviour, please consider the other options in ‘Self Manage’ including setting a Deposit Limit. In addition we strongly encourage you to call Gambling Help on 1800 858 858.
At TAB we take our responsible gambling commitments seriously. If you are having an issue with your gambling, then self-exclusion may be an effective way to manage your gambling issues.
If you are an existing customer – In order to self-exclude your account from our online products, please complete and submit the Self-Exclusion Notice form. This can be completed online within your Account area within Self-Manage and following the prompts. Select the ‘Set Up’ button below to start.
If you are not an existing customer – In order to self-exclude from our online products if you do not currently hold an account with us, please complete and submit the Self exclusion notice – sports bookmaker/betting exchange operator form to Licensing NT.
If gambling has become a problem for you, we encourage you to also consider seeking self-exclusion from any other betting agencies that you may have accounts with by completing and submitting the Self exclusion notice – sports bookmaker/betting exchange operator form to Licensing NT. Gambling Helpline provides a range of services including individual counselling, self-help options and can assist with referrals to a range of support groups in both metropolitan and regional areas.
Gambling Help Online is a free 24/7 anonymous counselling service which has experienced staff that can assist you in a number of ways and can assist in finding free face-to-face counselling for those affected by a gambling problem either directly or via its network of treatment providers across Australia.
Customer Complaints Procedure - TAB takes its responsible gambling commitments seriously.
